Foxie knows that we have all had that feeling that our phone is somehow listening to us. Your spouse asks you what sounds good for dinner, and you say, “Tacos would hit the spot.” Seconds later, your feed is filled with ads for tortillas and Mexican restaurants. You aren’t going crazy…that is targeted marketing at work. Practically anytime you are online, someone, somewhere is tracking you. Kind of creepy, right?

Here are three ways how that works…and why you should care:

  1. Tracking You Online: Cookies, web beacons (aka “tracking pixels) and other sneaky trackers follow your every click. When you “Like” that Facebook post about puppies while mindlessly scrolling through your feed at midnight, Facebook now knows that you are a dog lover and a night owl.
  2. Data Collection at Signup: You know how this works. Name, email, phone number and the name, social security number, and favorite food of your first-born child (just kidding about that one.) We all hand over all that personal information like candy on Halloween without a second thought.
  3. Selling Your Information: Your personal data is basically the internet’s version of gold. Companies sell your info to brokers and advertisers who then send you those “coincidentally timed” ads you never asked for.

This is where Foxie and LinkMy.Wedding are different. We don’t play those games.

  • We only collect what is absolutely necessary to provide our services.
  • We never sell, share, or trade your data.
  • Our privacy policies are transparent, so you are always in control.

At the end of the day, your data belongs to you…not advertisers. Foxie and LinkMy.Wedding are here to protect your privacy, earn your trust, and make life (and wedding planning) easier.
