Engagement bliss is real…until wedding planning begins and you realize just how many decisions need to be made. Some days you and your partner will agree on everything, and other days you’ll disagree on everything. Foxie knows that’s normal. Conflict doesn’t mean someone’s wrong…it means two humans with differing opinions are building a life together.

The real magic is in how you handle it.

Foxie has identified three common wedding planning conflicts – and how to survive them (with the help of LinkMy.Wedding) so that your relationship will remain intact.

  • The Guest List Showdown – Your partner wants to invite 200 people to your wedding…you want to invite 75. Big guest lists aren’t about extravagance; they are about inclusion. If the budget is the concern, sit down together and calmly talk numbers. If the budget isn’t a huge factor, consider what’s harder: asking your partner to cut people who matter to them, or opening your heart (and wallet) a bit wider.

Bonus: Some of your distant relatives or people from your partner’s job might surprisingly be fun after a couple drinks! 🍻 This is hopefully a once in a lifetime celebration…live a little!

    • Wedding Party Size – You want 8 bridesmaids, and your partner only wants 5 groomsmen. Don’t force friendship symmetry. You can add acquaintances (hello, strange cousin Johnny, who hopefully won’t embarrass you), or you can embrace an uneven party.

Pro tip: Have this conversation before asking anyone to be in your wedding party. Un-asking someone is worse than serving leftover Christmas fruitcake in lieu of wedding cake. 🤢

    • Choreographed Dances – You have seen them on Instagram and YouTube, and you are in love with the idea…but your partner would rather pour hot honey over their entire body.

Compromise: Everyone loves someone who can dance (see Patrick Swayze, Maddie Ziegler, John Travolta and Charlie D’Amelio).

Take a few lessons, learn a short routine, then freestyle the rest. You will look prepared and relaxed…which is wedding day and social media gold.

Foxie knows that the flowers fade, the cake will be eaten…but how you worked together as a team will last long after the last dance (unless that song happens to be “Stairway to Heaven” because that song is really long🤣).
