What happens When You "Click Here to Agree"

We all visit different websites and sign up for services online, and when that little box pops up asking you to “Click Here to Agree,” almost all of us do so without blinking an eye.

Do you know what you are agreeing to when you check that box?

Practically anytime you are online, you are being tracked by someone.

Something we all do...like browsing and opening social media pages...opens you up to sharing information. When you “Like” something on Facebook, what your browser is doing behind the scenes is sending a “cookie” to Facebook. This allows Facebook to learn what you looked at, what your interests are, what times of day you are active...all kinds of information is being gathered.

This is how ads regarding something you were just talking about suddenly appear on your page. We’ve all had that creepy feeling of, “How did they know I was just talking about or looking at that?” That is called targeted marketing.

How companies gather and sell your information:

  • Data collection at signup: Businesses will require you to provide personal information and most of us do so...no questions asked. Your name, email, phone number, physical address...we willingly give up all this information simply because they asked for it.
  • How you are tracked: Cookies, trackers and web beacons (tracking elements inside web pages to see where a person clicked or spent a lot of time) are all used to gather data about your interests and preferences.
  • Your information is then sold to third parties: Your data is what companies want...it is the holy grail. It is sold to data brokers and analytics companies, who then use it to target you with advertising.

Foxie and LinkMy.Events understand the need for privacy. We exemplify this by not selling, sharing or misusing our customer data EVER.

How Foxie and LinkMy.Events differ from other companies:

  • We only gather the information necessary to provide our services to you.
  • We NEVER sell, share or trade information with any third parties.

Whether you are talking with customers, or friends and family involving a special event, we respect your data and protect your trust.

We are here when you are ready to plan your next event, walk to talk about business communications, or learning how to better protect your privacy.
