What is Your Sales Strategy?

I don’t know many people that like salespeople. I get it...we can be annoying.

As a consumer, I want to research the product myself, and if I have any questions, THEN I will ask.

The salesperson in me wants to answer your questions before you ask them, make sure you are buying what you want, and don’t allow you to leave the room or hang up the phone without closing the deal.

So, where is the happy medium?

  • Relationship selling – A recent study has shown that 86% of customers with an emotional connection to the salesperson and brand, are likely to become repeat customers. This approach emphasizes the importance of building trust and a great rapport with the customer.

         Examples: Real estate and automobile sales.

  • SPIN selling – (Situation, Problem, Implication and Need-payoff). It requires the salesperson to ask pertinent questions and address the prospective customers' situation, pain points, and needs.

         Good for emotional sales, like life insurance.

The best salespeople realize the importance of building trust and addressing customers’ needs. Delivering on your promises and going above and beyond to ensure the customers' total satisfaction with what you just sold them, are the keys to selling and keeping a customer for life.
