Building a Marketing Plan
Every successful person and business became successful by having a vision and a plan. Sure there is that one in a billion chance you might win the lottery or hit a big jackpot at the casino, but for the majority, a successful plan is the key to success.

- Be a problem solver, not a salesperson - People want their problems solved. If what you are selling will help them accomplish that, then you are well on your way to a successful partnership. It’s your job as a business owner to understand your clients’ difficulties and match your products and offers to what they need.
- Build a strategy – A strategy-first approach should be the key element in your marketing plan. Who are you trying to sell to? Why would a customer buy from you and not your competition? What makes your business stand out?
- Explore your digital presence – Start by scoping out your competition and see what you can find out about them online. Then ask yourself:
- What kinds of advertising are they doing?
- Why is my competition showing up in searches, but I’m not?
- What terms are my competitors ranking for that I should be?
- What kind of content are they blogging about?
- Set quarterly goals and live by them– Planning what needs to be done and when is how you can stay focused on the metrics that matter the most. Create a list of the highest impact items you are focusing on each quarter. Then live by that calendar. If you don’t plan it, odds are, it won’t happen.
